The 5 Things Anyone Can Do To Lose Weight And Stay Healthy

Are you finding it difficult to keep up with the barrage of health and fitness articles telling you to do nigh-impossible things in an attempt to lose weight and stay fit? Are the rules of nutrition getting increasingly complicated, so much so you've started ignoring them? You're not alone there. More and more people are getting increasingly befuddled with new discoveries of foods or exercises that offer benefits and cause never-heard before diseases.

Keeping your health and fitness routine simple is the key to success. You are more likely to feel encouraged to keep at it if you choose a routine that simple and doable. Staying healthy and fit may seem complicated, but the basics are very simple.

Here are five simple and easy ways you can improve your health and fitness starting today:

Eat Less Food

Do you eat till you are full and then snack as a hobby? Stop! It's simple- the more you eat the fatter and unhealthier you'll be. Eat sensibly. While it is certainly not recommended that you go on a crash diet, no matter how urgently you need to lose weight, it is advisable that you eat smaller portions of food five times a day rather than 3 huge meals daily. Stop eating before you feel full, and drink a glass of water - you'll find that within 10 minutes you'll feel full.

Drink More Water

The recommended daily minimum is 8 glasses o f water. Drink up anytime, anywhere. Water does you a world of good and flushes away unwanted toxins. Drink lots of good clean water and you may start to lose weight and feel better with that one step.

Exercise Daily

It does not matter what exercise you choose to do as long as you do it. If you're fed up of running on the treadmill in a stuffy old gym, grab your beach kit and go out for a run on the beach. Follow it up with a swim in the sea for a complete body work out. You don't need an expensive gym membership to work out. In fact, many experts believe that a more natural workout, with exercises such as running, walking, biking, swimming, push ups, pull ups, sit ups, etc, is actually better for you.

Give up Smoking

Every single cigarette you smoke damages your heart that much more. If you smoke, give it up; if you don't, don't start. If you need help to smoke smoking, don't be ashamed to ask. Cigarettes are highly addictive and often difficult to give up without help. There are a variety of products and services that can help you stop the habit of smoking. The sooner you stop smoking, the better.

Stay Mentally Alert

Indulging in mentally stimulating activities like crosswords and Sudoku helps to stimulate the brain and retard the onset of Alzheimer's and other age-related conditions. You might try Scrabble - if you don't have anyone to play with, try playing an online game of this great lingual exercise.

What Are the High Antioxidant Foods for Reducing Wrinkles?

If you want to look years younger, and to have gorgeous looking skin at any age, then you've got to have enough antioxidants in your diet.

Want to know which foods have the most antioxidants? Then read on.

Even though they're invisible, free radicals are constantly produced by your body, and if left unchecked, can result in very visible signs of aging on your skin, including wrinkles.

And it's not just your skin.

If enough free radicals interrupt the correct functioning of enough of your cells, your entire body will be affected. If you're stressed, or exercise heavily for example, then you'll probably need more antioxidants in that situation than someone else.

So if you're interested in anti aging and in preventing the signs of skin aging, then you'll need to pay attention to the food you're having, to ensure that it's wholesome and provides you with the antioxidants you need to neutralise these free radicals.

The US Department of Agriculture in a recent study looked at more than a hundred fruits, vegetable, nuts, and even spices, and analysed the foods not only for their concentrations of antioxidants, but also for the amounts of antioxidants contained in a single serving of each.

So here are the top antioxidant foods that were found in this study, which was the largest USDA study in antioxidants.

Fruits

The leaders among the fruits were blueberries, both wild and cultivated, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Berries have become popular as health foods, and rightly so!

The other fruits which appeared in the top 20 were prunes (which scored nearly as high as cranberries), as well as Red Delicious and Granny Smith apples.

Vegetables and legumes

On the top of the list for vegetables and legumes were dried red beans (the over all leader), artichokes, Russet potatoes, red kidney beans, pinto beans and black beans.

Of course other vegetables and beans are high in antioxidants too, but these were the ones that scored the highest.

We've always known that vegetables were an important part of our diet, so now you simply have to make sure that you get plenty every day.

Nuts

The winning nuts were pecans, followed by walnuts and hazelnuts.

Nuts do contain a lot more calories, so be careful and only have small amounts.

Spices and herbs

The addition of spices to your cooking will not only boost their flavour, it will boost their antioxidant power.

Ground cloves and cinnamon, along with oregano, scored highest among the spices tested.

Christmas cookies and Italian food will now be even more appealing!

How much antioxidants do Americans consume every day at the moment?

The USDA study, which was performed by the US Department of Agricultural Research Service, also indicated that the "average" consumption of the specific antioxidants, or anthocyanins, which give red, blue, purple, and black fruits their coloring, is about 12.5 mg per person per day.

What's interesting to note is that the Okinawan population of Japan, which is the healthiest population in the world, have much higher levels of antioxidants in their diets than people in Western countries typically would.

While no official minimum daily requirement for these antioxidants has been established yet, perhaps, in the near future, they'll come up with an accurate determination of which antioxidants, in which amounts, we should be consuming each day in our efforts to turn back the clock and keep our youthful bloom!

So there you have it.

You now know the top foods when it comes to getting enough of these powerful antioxidants.

And if you're interested in an anti aging diet to improve your skin appearance, then combining a great anti aging diet with facial wrinkle creams that work, will provide greater results than just using one or the other alone.

When you do this, you'll look 10 -20 years younger in no time.

So go for it and get great skin, and enjoy all the benefits this has to offer!

Dangers of Diet Drinks

Ads for diet soft drinks show slender, beautiful women parading in skimpy bikinis, obviously to entice people to buy thee products and make them believe that they can control weight.

But these ads are deceiving since there is no evidence to support these claims, according to Kurt Butler and Dr. Lynne Rayner of the University of Hawaii in “The Best Medicine.”

Experts say that while diet drinks have little or no calories at all, they contain the artificial sweetener saccharin that may stimulate the appetite.

People who regularly take diet sodas can also suffer from calcium deficiency since these drinks contain caffeine and phosphoric acid that promote calcium excretion and damage teeth.

Phosphorus is normally needed by the body for strong bones and teeth and to break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. But the heavy consumption of diet drinks creates an oversupply of phosphorus. This, in turn, leads to the poor development of bones and teeth in children and brittle bones in adults.

Another problem concerns the safety of artificial sweeteners used in these products. Some diet drinks are sweetened with saccharin and aspartame.

Saccharin causes cancer in laboratory animals and only time and more tests will tell whether this is true for humans. But heavy smokers who drink saccharin-sweetened beverages may have a greater risk of contracting this deadly disease, said Drs. G. Timothy Johnson and Stephen Goldfinger of the Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Susan Baker of the Boston Children's Hospital reports that this controversial sweetener may interfere with blood sugar retention, posing a threat to those with diabetes. Because of this and other possible dangers, Rayner warns against the use of diet soft drinks by youngsters and pregnant women.

Although aspartame has been certified safe by the US Food and Drug Administration, it shouldn't be taken by those suffering from the enzyme deficiency phenylketonuria (PKU). This disorder is characterized by high levels of phenylalanine in the bloodstream that can cause brain damage.

For a safe diet drink, doctors recommend a popular, sugar-free, calorie-free, inexpensive brand -water. It is filling but not fattening. To stay in perfect shape, take Zylorin, the safe and natural way to lose weight. Combined with a good exercise and diet program, Zylorin will help you burn fat, speed up your metabolism, and control unhealthy food cravings. Visit http://www.zylorin.com for more details.

Can you Trust Slimming Salons?

Many dimming salons regularly compete for advertising space in leading dailies. They all promise excellent results with their sophisticated equipment and money back guarantee. To entice more customers, they offer big discounts and vow to transform even the ugliest, flabbiest duckling into a Slenderalla without the benefit of exercise or dieting.

Some commercial salons are legitimate and will really give you your money's worth. However, others are fronts for quackery which are only out to get your money. To avoid being taken for a ride, visit several facilities but don't sign anything until you're sure of what you're getting.

Many salons rely heavily on machines which supposedly melt or burn away fat even if you don't move an inch. These devices are known by many other fancy names in different health clubs but they all fall under the category of electrical muscle stimulators (EMS).

EMS are used in physical therapy to relax muscle spasms, prevent blood clots in leg muscles after surgery or stroke, and stop the muscles from wasting away after a long period of disuse.

But slimming salons promote them for body shaping, figure toning, cellulite removal, weight loss, and wrinkle removal. They say you can lose unwanted pounds just by lying down, reading or watching TV while the machine does all the work for you. To give credence to these unfounded claims, figure salons employ doctors or other medical personnel to operate these useless machines. While they may sound convincing, don't fall for this dirty trick.

"The US Food and Drug Administration considers the use or promotion of muscle stimulators for use in homes, beauty salons, and health spas for purposes of weight loss or body toning to be fraudulent, even if a physician or other licensed practitioner is using the device," said Kurt Butler and Dr. Lynne Rayner of the University of Hawaii in “The Best Medicine.”

Not only are EMS useless for weight reduction, they are also dangerous. They can cause electrical shocks and burns. One such machine called the Relaxacisor was banned in the United States after it injured 40 people.

Pregnant women, those with heart problems or pacemakers, epilepsy or cancer should never use EMS while the machine's electrodes should never be placed near the heart, brain or spinal column where they can cause considerable harm.

Vibrators or machines that mimic a masseuse are equally worthless for melting away fat. They may make you feel good but it takes more than a good massage to reduce as many obese people will tell you.

Neither will slimming or sweat suits wrapped around the body battle bulges. The most they can do is to drive a little water out of the body temporarily, thereby making you think you've lost fat. But they can overheat the muscles and increase the risk of heart stroke, according to Rayner.

Cellulite, the oatmeal-like fat which hangs from the upper arms and is found in the stomach or thighs, is no exception to this rule. It cannot be removed by mere mechanical manipulations - the kind provided by EMS, vibrators, and other machines. That's because it is not just fat but a gel-like substance made of water and wastes trapped beneath the skin.

To lose weight, stick to a good diet and exercise program. To enhance your diet and exercise program, take Zylorin, the safe and natural way to remove those excess pounds. Zylorin will give you the body you want without harming your health. Go to http://www.zylorin.com for details.

The Proper Diet for Diabetic People

Diabetes can be a very dangerous disease. It is a disease that is usually referred to as a silent killer, as its patient rarely show any signs and symptoms related to disease. Yet, the damage is getting severe inside.

As of now, there's no cure for diabetes just yet. Diabetic people are advised to watch their diet and maintain an ideal weight so they can manage their disease better. Here are good diet suggestions so patients suffering from diabetes may stay healthy despite their condition:

1. A daily dose of fruits and vegetables is essential.
Fruits and vegetables play an important role in a diabetic's diet. As much as possible, they should eat fruits or green leafy vegetables for snacks or along the main meal. Stir-fried or raw vegetables are ideal. These foods are rich in vitamins and nutrients essential in fighting off bad cholesterol.

2. Starches should be consumed for energy.
A diabetic's diet should include starch so that the patient would have energy to sustain his daily activities. Bread and cereal are good sources of starch. It is best consumed during breakfast to fuel up the required energy throughout the day.

3. Avoid sweets and sugary foods.
If you can't help eating sweetened foods, at least do so in moderation. Restrict yourself to eating sugary food once in a week. You have to reduce sugar intake because being diabetic, your body can't break down the sugar, as it should.

4. Include soluble fibers in your diet.
Studies have shown that soluble fibers slow down the absorption of glucose in the intestines. Legumes, kidney beans, and carrots are good choices of food that are high in soluble fibers.

These suggestions should help a lot as far as nutrition is concerned. However, diabetic people should make it a point to visit their doctor on a regular basis so that their health will be monitored properly.

Natural Weight Loss for Good Health and Well Being

Weight loss is becoming an unhealthy obsession dealing with body images, but in some cases can improve health and fitness. When weight loss is a result of eating healthy, exercising and/or taking natural weight loss supplements in contrast to synthetic prescription drugs with the risk of harmful side effects, weight loss can be effective, rewarding, and greatly improve overall health. Extra weight, especially extra fat on a person's body, applies significantly increased stresses on the heart, joints and back. These stresses can be extremely detrimental to one's health. Healthy weight loss can reduce the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, arthritis and other health problems, as well as generally extending an otherwise average life span. Recently, the scientific root cause or explanation of obesity has been revealed as being part of one's physiology. The internal functions of an obese person are different than those of a healthy person, and cause intense hunger pains and food cravings. Natural weight loss supplements can help counteract this constant hunger and lead to healthy weight loss. Unbalanced hormones are a common cause of weight gain, therefore taking natural hormone balancers and herbal supplements would help to create a healthy weight loss regimen. Restoring your health allows you to lose weight naturally, without excess frustration and effort. It's all about losing weight from the inside out. Emotional issues always accompany change, especially changes in our bodies e.g. natural weight loss. Weight loss affects our perception body image, our sense of identity i.e. who am I?, and how we feel about ourselves in general. Weight loss also effects our social relationships in that there may be people in our family or social contacts that are emotionally invested in our remaining the same i.e. overweight with all that it symbolizes e.g. friendliness, non-threatening, protective, jovial, helpful, etc. Beyond our physical health, it can be said that "size matters" cognitively and emotionally to ourselves and others. Eating and food have come to symbolize being accepted, being cared for and comfort. Having the support of others in our efforts to naturally lose weight and regain our health is a huge advantage. We have been "conditioned" to fear any kind of loss, including weight loss. Especially if what we may lose is something with which we identify i.e. use to tell us who we are. The emotions of fear, anger, anxiety and depression effect our weight. We often tend to "stuff our feelings" or numb these emotional feelings or stress by overeating. We may even overeat, thinking that will ease the physical discomfort caused by excess weight e.g. physical pain, lack of sleep, and lack of energy caused by moderate depression. To improve our overall health and support us through the process of natural weight loss and the emotional dynamics around it, we can take advantage of natural sleep aids, natural depression relief and natural pain relief health care products. Our weight and health is greatly dependent upon our having a healthy digestive system or metabolism. Our digestive system converts, on a cellular and muscular level, the foods we eat, eliminates toxins, and uses and stores glucose for energy. Natural enzymes trigger hunger signals and facilitate absorption of nutrition. Good digestion with the help of natural enzymes aids in the conversion of fat to muscle. Allergy and sensitivity to food, parasites, yeast overgrowth and emotional stress are signals of digestive disruption and inflammation. Natural essential fatty acids work to reduce intestinal inflammation, decrease harmful acids, help the liver process proteins that grow muscle, balance hormones and facilitate the elimination of toxins. Natural essential fatty acids help clear our digestive system of heavy metals, harmful bacteria, pesticides that we are increasingly encountering in our environment. Essential fatty acids along with natural fiber help us clean out the intestinal debris that harm our health and often lead to weight gain. Essential fatty acids also help our brain's neurotransmitters to function properly in order to deal with stress, emotions, and cravings that can lead to overeating and weight gain. Natural amino acids are the building blocks that make up proteins. Next to water, protein makes up the greatest part of our body weight. Amino acids help increase metabolism, build muscle, ease moderate depression, and help burn fat. Natural antioxidants help carry more oxygen to cells and muscles to help increase energy, burn fat, build muscle and process the foods we eat. Hormone balance is essential for natural weight loss. Our metabolism slows as we get older because of the decrease or imbalance of hormones. This contributes to weight gain. Hormone balance also helps us deal with stress that leads to weight gain. Proper hormone balance helps to decrease cravings and binge eating. There are many natural hormone balancing products available, e.g. natural progesterone, promensil, soy isoflavones, essential fatty acids and hormone balancing formulas. Our metabolism's primary task is to nourish our brains. We need healthy neurotransmitters to help us curb craving, ease depression, and deal with stress that lead to weight gain. Balancing our natural brain chemistry has a calming effect and allows us to feel a sens of well being and safety. There are many natural health care products to help balance brain chemistry, e.g. essential fatty acids, natural depression relief products, natural products to increase serotonin, and more. When our brain feels well and safe, it is prone to change our metabolism from calorie saving to calorie burning. Our bodies were designed to move and be active. Movement requires muscle activity. Muscle activity uses the glycogen supply found in our muscles. When this glycogen supply stored in our muscles is used, our body is forced to use stored fat as an energy source. Using this stored fat through movement and exercise, results in natural weight loss. There is no reason for us to become athletes to accomplish natural weight loss. Low impact exercise like swimming, walking, etc, can be done slowly and without strain. In order to lose real weight rather than "water weight", it is important to drink extra amounts of water when exercising. Drinking more water will also help our digestive system and metabolism to use and eliminate extra weight. Remember, the first objective, accomplished through natural weight loss, is to improve our physical and emotional health. This involves having a healthy digestive system, a healthy emotional system and a healthy nutritional system. We can build these healthy systems with natural vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, natural digestive aid, pain relief aid, natural sleep aids, natural emotional and mood aids, essential fatty acids and many more helpful natural health care products. We need to concentrate on improving our general health, feeling good, and living well through natural weight loss, rather than constantly comparing ourselves to someone else's idea about appearance from some magazine. Physical and emotional health is primary. Appearance may be important to us, but it is secondary. Through natural weight loss, we can live well and live long.

A Health Care Degree Online Removes The Sting From Job Woes

If you are currently in the medical field and want to advance further, or are just now looking to enter the medical field, you may be wondering what your plan of attack might be. Seeking a better job with more responsibilities, or receiving a higher salary probably will require further education. Many people assume that a great job in the medical field requires years of medical school or many years of on-the-job training. This is not true. A good quality health care degree online allows you to enter the medical field or advance in it, and this sort of education program does not require you to quit your current job while you prepare for a better life.

The truth is, there is a great need for medical care workers right now. A growing, aging population requires plenty of care and there are simply often not enough trained, qualified healthcare workers to provide optimum care for everyone. It is not just nurses and doctors who are needed. People who are trained in medical transcription and medical assisting are also in high demand. In fact, these people are sometimes even in higher demand. Every company providing health care requires the services of people who know about medical transcription and medical assisting. There is a lack of trained professionals out there, which means that some companies and clinics are forced to outsource their work to overseas companies. By getting a health care degree online, you can get jobs in the exciting medical field often after only months of training.

The exciting thing about getting your health care degree online is that you can train for a real career that can truly help others. The potential for job satisfaction is huge, since once you get your degree you will be able to help people recover and enjoy great health. You will be able to directly and positively affect people's lives. At the same time, you will be able to enjoy career opportunities that afford good wages, excellent benefits, and plenty of room for advancement.

A health care degree online is great for adult learners. Whether you want to advance in the medical field or want to enter it, you may not be able to simply drop your current job and family responsibilities to purse on-campus education full-time. Getting a health care degree online is the perfect solution. As you hone your skills, you can attend your regular job, since online classrooms are open all the time, including those times when it is convenient for you to study. In many cases, online programs hire faculty with real-life experience, since these programs of study are geared towards teaching real-life skills. Rather than focusing on learning plenty of theoretical and abstract ideas, you will focus your time learning the actual skills you will need in your new job. As a nice bonus, you will save money, since you will only pay for your tuition and books.

Whether you want to enter a new field or want to advance in the health field you are already part of, a health care degree online is a very cost-conscious and time-smart way to study. With many opportunities now available in health care, an online program can start you specifically on a path of success towards an exciting and rewarding new job.

There are plenty of jobs now available in this field, and contrary to popular belief, you do not have to put your life on hold or get into six-figure debt in order to enter the field. Plus, as the population continues to age and health care becomes an even bigger concern, more opportunities may open up for trained professionals in the field. Make sure that you find an accredited program and speak to your chosen school about financial options. You may find that a new job opportunity can be yours more easily than you ever imagined.

The One Option for Fibroids You Should Be Aware Of...

Did you know that fibroids affect an estimated 20-50% of all women? These benign uterine growths can range in size from that of a pea to that of a melon, and symptoms can vary from none at all to heavy or painful periods, bleeding between periods, pain during intercourse, and lower back pain - to name a few.

According to Western medicine, no one knows for sure what causes fibroids. What we do know is that they seem to be affected by our hormones - in other words, excess estrogen in the body seems to make them grow, and they will often decrease in size after menopause (when overall body estrogen is lower). For women exhibiting symptoms, doctors will most often offer the choice of controlling growth through drugs, or removing the fibroids through surgery.

There is another option

If you've been diagnosed with fibroids, and are looking for an alternative to drugs and surgery, consider this: There are ways to minimize the size and symptoms of fibroids by using food therapeutically.

How do we do this? First of all, we work with you on food choices - finding those foods that will support your body in healing itself. In general, fresh whole foods - which are higher in fiber - help the liver in its job of processing and removing toxins from the body, including excess estrogen.

Stored emotions Next we look at the flip side of the coin.

Dr. Christiane Northrup (author of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom) calls fibroids an "illness of competition." At LSW, we believe that fibroids represent stored emotion - most typically anger or resentment. As modern women, we often don't have an outlet for the stressors in our lives, leaving them to be stored in our bodies as unprocessed emotions.

Investigating your relationship with these important emotions and finding healthy outlets for their expression can be a key component in your healing journey.

First steps

If you are suffering from fibroids, call us for a free consultation and find out more about how we can help. But in the meantime, start with these basic steps:

* Increase: whole grains, green vegetables * Increase: rest, play time, down time * Decrease: sugar, alcohol, caffeine * For symptomatic relief: apply a hot water bottle - filled with warm to hot water (NOT boiling) - to the abdomen

Questions about fibroids?

Ask questions and leave comments at in our comments section below, and an LSW Counselor will respond. If you’re dealing with fibroids, this is a great opportunity to get your questions answered!

Importance of Losing Weight: More than Just Looking Fat

One in every three Americans are now considered to be overweight and obese. This can be seen as an alarming rate when one thinks about it, since being overweight and obese is not just about the issue of appearance in our society but a serious health issue that can seriously affect a person's health. Although both these conditions have similar concepts, being overweight is different from obesity. Overweight people are the ones who weigh too much, while obesity means that a person has too much body fat that is already considered to be a health risk. Both weight conditions refer to weight that comes from bone, muscle, fat, and the amount of body water that a person carries.

A person who is overweight and obese usually have overweight or obese parents, too. Scientific evidence suggests that obesity is genetic, or runs in the family, so to speak. The environment also plays a role in developing obesity or being overweight. People are now gaining weight because of the food they eat. Eating choices like fast food burgers and fries that are equally high in fat and eating it in front of the television would not make the person burn all the calories needed to sustain the right weight. High calorie, low nutrient snacks and beverages, big portions of food, and a less than active lifestyle can also contribute to being overweight and obese. Sometimes, people turn to food for emotional comfort. When they feel stressed, sad, anxious, upset or even bored, they tend to eat more than usual, and they often eat more than what they need to consume.

Being overweight and obese is not just a cosmetic issue, but a health dilemma directly harmful to a person's health. These conditions increase the risk of developing a number of chronic diseases including hypertension, Type-2 diabetes, high cholesterol, strokes, heart attacks, cancer, congestive heart failure, gallstones, gout, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, fatty liver, depression, and other diseases.

For this reason, many people turn to anti-obesity drugs to eliminate their body fats as fast as possible. These medications are specially formulated for people who are either overweight or obese, and is medically prescribed only in cases where weight loss is needed to prevent further life-threatening diseases. Such anti-obesity drugs like Orlistat, Rimonabant, Metformin, Sibutramine, and Xenical have certain ingredients that would help induce the appropriate weight loss. Such mechanisms include the suppression of one's appetite, increasing the body's metabolism, and interfering with the body's ability to absorb certain nutrients in food. However, these anti obesity drugs also have side effects that can be risky to one's health. It is important to consult with the doctor before taking any of these anti-obesity drugs.

A healthier way to gradually decrease one's weight is to simply have self-control. Make a simple plan that would eventually limit one's food intake, like cutting back on those sugary beverages and junk food. If eating, make sure to pass up on second servings, and eat the right amount of fat and carbohydrates. By exercising even for just ten minutes a day, or by brisk walking, one can burn out the calories and help improve one's health. Do not forget to ask for help and support from friends and family, since this can boost one's confidence in to achieving their desired body weight.

Vitamins For Hair Loss - Hair Loss Due To Vitamin Deficiency

Zinc, iron, B vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids and other nutrients are responsible for hair growth. If these deficiencies occur ,for whatever reason, hair loss is likely. These deficiencies can result from many of the problems referred to in this article as well as poor diet.

However, there are other cases when hair loss can be a sign of a serious medical problem. This is known as temporary hair loss, because genes did not predetermine the loss of hair. One of the leading causes of temporary hair loss is vitamin deficiency. Hair follicles require certain vitamins to carry on their constant function of regeneration and growth. If follicles remain deprived of these vitamins they won't be able to carry out their normal functioning and may result in hair loss.

Most often due to poor dietary habits or disturbed metabolism folks happen to be deficient with these vitamins. So a change in dietary habits or food intake is necessary to ensure enough intake of necessary vitamins for hair in order to prevent hair loss.

Vital Vitamins To Prevent Hair Loss

There are many different vitamins that are extremely important to maintaining a healthy head of hair. Hair loss could be caused by a vitamin deficiency in any of these nutrients. All that is necessary to reverse the temporary hair loss is following a proper diet!

Vitamin A is a vitamin that promotes the healthy growth of both cells and tissue in various parts of the body, including the cells in the scalp and hair. A vitamin A deficiency could lead to hair loss and dandruff, especially if the deficiency occurs for an extended period of time. To get the vitamin A you need, make sure to consume lots of leafy vegetables, colorful fruits, liver, eggs, and fish oil.

Hair loss could be caused by a vitamin deficiency in one or more of three B vitamins. These three B vitamins (more specifically folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12) are important to the creation of red blood cells and hemoglobin. The hemoglobin carries oxygen to various body tissues, including the hair cells. A vitamin deficiency could cause hair loss due to the resulting reduced blood and oxygen supply to the hair. To get your B vitamins, eat plenty of chicken, fish, whole grains, beets, and orange juice.

A vitamin deficiency in biotin could cause hair loss. Though deficiency in biotin is rare, it has been observed in some cases. Biotin can be found in select foods, and it is also produced in the intestines by good bacteria. Most people who eat a healthy diet would never experience hair loss as a result of this vitamin deficiency. However, if this does occur, vitamin supplements can be taken.

What Else?

Other vitamins are important to the growth and maintenance of hair. These vitamins include zinc, iron, vitamin C, and copper. If you do not receive an adequate amount of these vitamins, make sure to look for food sources or begin taking supplements.

High doses of Vitamin A can also result in the temporary loss of hair.

Iron deficiency can be another cause of hair loss. Young women often have low iron due to the changes in their bodies and their menstrual cycle. Some people do not consume enough iron in their diets or have an inability to properly absorb iron. A doctor can test your blood for iron levels and can treat this by recommending iron pills as part of your vitamin and mineral regiment.

Insufficient protein in your diet may result in protein malnutrition that can affect hair loss. If you are on a diet that is low in protein this may be the culprit. Your body will take the protein from your hair, forcing your hair into the telogen or resting phase. Hair loss will then occur two or more months later. This is not permanent hair loss and can be reversed with a proper diet with healthy amounts of protein.

Biotin

For people who eat a healthy diet, biotin deficiency is rare. Besides getting biotin from select food sources, biotin is also manufactured in our intestines by gut bacteria. In rare instances though, biotin deficiency can cause hair loss. Both patients had severe loss of hair. These patients, due to their medical condition, did not manufacture biotin in their gut and consumed no biotin orally or parenterally. Daily supplementation of biotin resulted in the gradual regrowth of healthy hair.

If you are facing deficiency of these vitamins you should incorporate food items in your diet to ensure sufficient intake of these vitamins. It would lessen possibility of hair loss.
